Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn is back to direct Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3. After being fired from Disney and Marvel Studios for inappropriate tweets, Disney has rehired him as GOTG 3 director. It was revealed that the House of Mouse and Marvel Studios have brought back James Gunn as GOTG 3 director. Moreover, Deadline revealed that this decision of bringing him back was made months ago.
According to the report, the president of Walt Disney Studios Alan Horn met Gunn several times after he was hired. He was persuaded by Gunn’s public apology and the way he handled the situation. Moreover, he was also helped by his cast and peers who defended James Gunn online and in the interviews.
The script for Guardians of the Galaxy 3 is already complete and is written by James Gunn himself. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige was quite resolute to use the script written by Gunn. Though there were rumours about other directors, clearly those rumours were not true.
The only complication in the project of GOTG 3 is the involvement of James Gunn in directing and writing DC’s Suicide Squad 2. After being fired from Marvel, he went on to write and direct Suicide Squad. But this complication has been resolved as Marvel has agreed on James Gunn starting on Guardians of the Galaxy after completing his work on DC’s Suicide Squad 2.
